The National Institute of Qualifications, abbreviated as "INQ", is the entity responsible for the coordination and supervision of the National Qualifications System, created by Presidential Decree No. 208/22, of 23 July, is a legal person governed by public law, in the form of a Public Institute, endowed with legal personality and technical and scientific-pedagogical, administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy.

Within the scope of its attributions, the INQ is subject to the superintendence of the Holder of Executive Power, exercised by the Ministerial Department responsible for the Labor Sector in alignment with the Ministry of Education in the pursuit of its attributions, has the mission of Coordinating and Implementing the National Qualifications System (SNQ), the latter established by Presidential Decree No. 210/22, of 23 July.
